Sculptured between 130 and 100 BC. Originally from the island of Milo.nnBackground of the Inspiration PiecennThe Venus de Milo is a famous sculpture of the goddess Aphrodite by Alexandros of Antioch. The statue is presently housed in the Louvre, Paris. It is renown not only for the subject?s missing arms but also as a symbol of female allure. The sculpture?s origin is Greek island known as Milo, hence part of its name. Upon discovery, the statue sold to the French government. Andrew et al. (2018) suggested that the sculpture ignited a controversy that involved the origin of the sculpture as well as???????.
