This kind of leadership is primarily shown by characters such as persuasiveness, assertive communication, robust connection, and extreme-magnetic or charming qualities (Vantagecircle, 2020).  The essay examines the reason for the success of charismatic leadership use determining and supporting words such as innovative, attractive, talented, empathetic, humble, generous, funny, visionary, selfless, compassionate, confident, maturity, and modest. It is a leadership style associated with high convincing power, persuasiveness, and altruism. Primarily, the leaders typically represent the majority and minority by adding value to their lives and genuinely standing up for them during times of need, hence why charismatic leaders are successful (Jim W., 2017).  The paper exhibit the qualities of charismatic leaders, such as high listening skills, including being active during an event, paying attention, and getting involved in the conversation. It expounds on the factors and various reasons why charismatic leaders are essential and should be emulated as the most successful leadership style (Jamie, 2016). Genuinely the love for funny leaders brides joy to followers and employees; the paper analyze deeply how lovable, and funny, charismatic leaders are, and they contribute to successful campaigns and fight for leadership in the world using various examples such as Barrack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Fidel Castro and Hitler (Melanie, 2021).

Reasons for success of charismatic leadership

A charismatic leader also attracts the audience and influences or inspires the public through irresistible personalities. The leader with charismatic qualities consistently exhibits a higher level of communication skills and persuasive skills. They possess high convincing power and naturally influence and excite people in all their presentations and communications (Scott, 2017). The charismatic leader quickly gets the audience’s attention, creating a working mood for their thoughts because they mostly talk about the audience and not themselves. Charismatic leadership aims to make the subject and the audience feels very important and appreciated, keeping the audience glued and ready to listen to them during events (Scott, 2017).

Charismatic leadership is equally important because they inspire people to act in specific ways. In areas where people need to join hands, charismatic leaders influence people to action by leading the way or acting as an example. Primarily, at the workplace, charismatic leaders make the employees believe in what they are doing; hence productivity is increased, and the company will probably face any challenges (Scott, 2017).

There are many ways that charismatic leadership exhibits their personality; mainly, the kind of leadership style is successful because they are empathetic, humble, vulnerable, humorous, genuine, generous, and altruistic. The empathetic aspect helps the leader to understand the worker and the subject’s suffering and problems and share the same feeling while creating ways to mitigate and solve such problems (Yscouts, 2021).

Essentially, charismatic leaders are successful because they are humble; they tend to lower their social status or political and administrative ranks; similarly showing modesty to fit the subject status (Scott, 2017). Having the same level and classification allows the employees or followers to report their problems and share their grievances quickly. It is through the know-how that a charismatic leader finds a solution to the problems of their subjects, while genuinely feeling the same pain, the subject always fall for their leadership and accepts and support their cause (Scott, 2017).

A charismatic leader also indicates some aspects of vulnerabilities. They suggest that they are exposed to harm that may be emotional or physical (Scott, 2017). Vulnerability helps them get sympathy and numerous volunteers that believe they need special care, support, and protection. In cases of political leadership, a charismatic leader is always supported by die-hards and people who believe in their cause, rain or shine. In an institution set up, a charismatic leader is always successful because the employees feel they must support and perform their duties to help them succeed (John, 2014). A charismatic manager takes their time to understand the employer and is personally and genuinely supporting them to solve their problems (Scott, 2017).

Mostly, charismatic leaders succeed and prowess because they are humorous. Humour makes the leader exciting, amusing, and comic; hence, they keep them entertained whenever they are in an event. The leader easily forgives and forgets people mistakes and is careful while staying positive, witty, and smiling (John, 2014). Charismatic leadership style is exhibited when the person is full of character, funny and careful not to annoy his subjects (Scott, 2017).

The view of a charismatic leader as genuine helps get more contracts in business and partnership. Most business personalities do not invest in people that are untrustworthy and do not love losing their money (Scott, 2017). A solution is provided by charismatic leadership style because they are genuine and have higher convincing power needed to attract new players and investors in a new business venture.

Biblically, it is stated that the more you give, the more you get spiritually and physically (John, 2014). Today, many people are suffering, especially in third world countries or war zone areas such as in Asia nations. Generous leaders such as Bill Gates, who started various foundations to support Ebola elimination in Africa and research and development concerning vaccines, typically are successful because of their charismatic leadership. Other leaders like Elon Musk, former American President; Barrack Obama, and retired United Nations General Secretary; Kofi Annan have always helped in arbitration in war zone areas and countries facing political problems such as Kenya because of their charismatic leadership.

The well being of the community is the primary concern for a charismatic leadership; the leader shows typically selfless and disinterested concerns for the community wellbeing (Scott, 2017). The leader usually put peoples first before personal interest. The altruistic personality portrayed by charismatic leaders primarily leads to their success. That success is also supported by factors such as equal distribution of wealth, justice, and peace-oriented practices (Scott, 2017). Charismatic leadership helps to break a truce and disagreement due to their selfless personality. They are ready to get a low status and get the little portion for others to get satisfied and succeed. Genuinely charismatic leaders do not stand or block the way for others success (Jim W., 2017). They are ready to uplift and support others selflessly without expectations or rewards from their actions.

The benefit of charismatic leadership that enhances their success includes building up courage and convincing others. They can stand up for their subjects or people with different opinions in the organization or society (John, 2014). In most cases, charismatic leaders fill the communication gap between the employees and the organizations, and at the same time, they inspire and motivate employees for higher productivity (Jim W., 2017).

Courage is not for every person because most people are shire and cannot fully express their grievances in an organization (Jamie, 2016). Lack of courage makes employees suffer because they fear being fired or laid off when they stand up and whistle blow a problem. It is the responsibility of charismatic leaders to represent employees through labour unions and employees associations (Mike, 2016). Through those organizations, the leaders express their suffering to employers and design bargaining terms to improve the employee’s wellbeing and the organization’s culture.

In an organization where minority groups are not equally represented, people with disabilities, women, and LGBTs usually are mistreated and looked down upon. Some LGTBs get disqualified or fired for stating their sexual orientation, while women are subjected to sexual harassment to maintain their jobs or get higher positions. Charismatic leadership assists by eliminating the communication gap between the leadership and the employees and inspires the junior staff to present their issues, concerns, and problems courageously (Katie, 2015). The leader gets close to the junior staff, including LGTBs and women, to understand their problems and find amicable solutions making the staff feel appreciated and increases the organization productivity.

Examination of reasons why charismatic leadership is effective reveals the ability to inspire subordinate staff towards greater performance levels and instill discipline and job commitment as some of the reasons for their success (Katie, 2015). Staff commitment to the job creates trust among the leadership and the employees, and in most cases, the staff is satisfied and contented. Satisfaction increases job productivity, profitability, and revenue. Therefore, leaders experiencing higher revenue and productivity in their organization are primarily classifies as charismatic.

The strength of charismatic leadership is exhibited by the ability to unite people and work towards one cause (Scott, 2017). People divided have limited chances of winning political positions. People must appoint a charismatic leader to push their political agenda and get better results. Charismatic leaders are most crowded in a political sector where various leaders such as Barrack Obama gained public and international trust because many people believe he can do it. His performance was strengthened by the tremendous support he got from citizens. It is evident that he had a charismatic personality because whenever he speaks, the crowd gets excited and joyful.

Some prominent characteristics of charismatic leadership include extraordinary communication skills, a higher level of maturity, humility, compassion, higher listening skills, confidence, and the ability to exhibit substance speaking (Yscouts, 2021). Examination of communication skills of charismatic leadership indicates a high level of understanding and ability to express ideas eloquently without a doubt. A charismatic leader is also ready and able to generate proper and appropriate answers to questions presented to them in every event or gathering. Whenever a charismatic leader speaks, people often find themselves excited and happy to listen and digest the speech (Yscouts, 2021).

Communication skills are the primary component of a successful organization. The channel of communication in every organization determines the methods and style of leadership (Yscouts, 2021). Proper communication to junior and senior employees is one factor contributing to the success of charismatic leadership.

Leaders are special kinds of people who exhibit a higher maturity level; communities and organizations give leaders due respect due to their positions and rankings (Yscouts, 2021). A better leader is a leader that is selfless and put the community first. Examination of maturity in leadership reveals that charismatic leaders possess a higher level of maturity and understanding. A charismatic leader poses knowledge of the institution and organization he represents (Yscouts, 2021). Whenever a challenge is brought forward, he provides the best answers and solutions to institutional problems.

A leader in a community or organization should possess a higher level of knowledge and skills; when a leader is knowledgeable, it is directly reflected in the manner he handles problems concerning the territory or subjects. Maturity levels make work easier for charismatic leaders; hence they can manage numerous activities and process solutions to different challenges in the organization (Yscouts, 2021).

Modesty or humility is a prominent characteristic of charismatic leadership that makes the leader have a low view of things (Mike, 2016). It is the ability that indicates humbles and honour while eliminating arrogance and pride. Some leaders who get to a higher position and immediately develop arrogance and pride do not deserve the title of charismatic leadership (Mike, 2016). Charismatic leaders usually succeed because they understand the difference between pride and confidence. They exhibit confidence when seeking to solve people’s problems and typically take responsibility for their actions instead of pride. The higher value of humility helps the leader acknowledge what they cannot get and strive to add value (Mike, 2016).

Leaders must be compassionate because their primary role is to help their subjects. Charismatic leaders exhibit a higher level of compassion while getting closer to the juniors and getting concerned about their misfortunes and sufferings (Yscouts, 2021). Companionate leaders always want to motivate the employees through the practice of kindness and creating ample time to bond with junior staff; assisting them in handling their tasks while giving free hugs and handshakes, and appreciating their hard work (Katie, 2015).

The ability to listen is also a characteristic of charismatic leadership (Jamie, 2016). The leaders can accurately and thoroughly receive information and messages and interpret them to achieve a successful communication process (Katie, 2015). If a leader cannot listen properly, people will not understand his opinion, and information will probably be misunderstood. Thus, charismatic leaders are successful because they have the primary skills in listening, such as active listening, responsive listening, and attentive listening; when being addressed, the leader maintains silence and concentration on the message and actively engages the speaker or the audience charismatically (Jamie, 2016).

Confidence in most cases indicates some level of pride but, a charismatic leader has developed knowledge to distinguish between confidence and pride (Jamie, 2016). The leader can exhibit confidence in handling people’s cases and dealing with matters that proud leadership cannot solve. Charismatic leaders instill confidence and mutual trust in their subjects; the leader can engage and succeed in activities with the support of their subjects (John, 2014). People believe they will succeed even when chances of success are very slim due to inspiration from a charismatic leadership. Confidence skill helps the leader understand that no human is perfect and focuses on the work. It is the ability that makes the leader does what makes them happy such as being nice to people, moving the masses, and celebrating success together (Scott, 2017).

Charismatic leaders often speak with substance; in-depth, the leaders are precise and clear; they usually say facts and take explicit steps to handle community or organization challenges (John, 2014). Charismatic leaders have qualities that generally relate to people problems; the leaders ask relevant questions and do not waste people’s time. At the same time, they add value to people lives by doing what they can to help their subjects (Mike, 2016).

Some of the most successful charismatic leaders in history include Mahatma Gandhi, Adolf Hitler, Fidel Castro, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, and Winston Churchill (Melanie, 2021). Those worldly known leaders were engaged in politics, and some, like Martin Luther King Jr., inspire his followers to vote and change the American leadership. The leader encouraged people to fight for their rights and change the constitution to accept equality and abolish the slave trade (Melanie, 2021). Others such as Adolf Hitler and Fidel Castro lead their subjects to attain leadership, maintain their freedom, and protect their country territories from intruders (Melanie, 2021). In all cases presented above, all the leaders possess higher charisma, knowledge, and understanding of their people’s problems. They listen carefully and process solution that is acceptable in their countries hence getting more love and respect whenever they stand to speak with their followers (Melanie, 2021).

Other successful qualities of charismatic leadership involve creativity, vision, and determination. Creativity typically leads to success; it is the proper use of imagination and quality or original ideas to invent solutions for people’s problems (Jim W., 2017). Charismatic leaders are widely successful because they can invent and innovate (Jim W., 2017). The community considers charismatic leaders as a genius because they create new things than copying and imitating others. The leader can think about solving challenges using new approaches while using imagination to solve complex issues (Jim W., 2017). That leadership style involving creativity is essential because leaders can inspire followers to open their minds and find solutions to the tough challenges in the community.

Leaders must be visionary, and an excellent example of visionary leadership is found in the charismatic leadership style (Jim W., 2017). Visionary primarily involves wide thinking and planning about the future with wisdom and imagination (Jim W., 2017). It is a supernatural apparition and the ability to have wonderful dreams that guide the leader to success. Charismatic leaders are very successful because they are ahead of time and normally have powerful strategies to change and modify the future in acceptable ways by the community (Jim W., 2017).

Determination is also another aspect contributing to success in charismatic leadership. A leader should be firm and have a fixed mind to achieve a set goal (Jim W., 2017). When leaders set their vision, plan, objectives, and mission, they cannot achieve them without sheer determination. Determination emulates the strength of leadership, and it brides trust in the person, making others believe and follow one cause of action or vision (Jim W., 2017).

Charismatic leaders typically understand the scope of their work; they have a more excellent knowledge of their responsibilities and duties (Jim W., 2017). The scope of work in every organization determines how employees can easily cope with their job. Whenever employees are facing difficulties, charismatic leaders use their influence to assist and support their junior understands the job requirement and scope (John, 2014).


Essentially, charisma is a quality that every leader should have. The essay enumerated how charismatic leadership is the most successful type. It is applicable for people in the community, organizations and every sector of human development. The leadership style is described by many words, including determinant, humorous, generous, confident, compassionate, talented, and motivational. That is the leadership style that is stated has most inspirational; it can inspire inactive workers to increase their productivity, and it can influence workers to develop morale or soldiers to succeed in a war-like the case of Fidel Castro.
